A LONELY HEART CRIES

I want to start today's post by apologising, I have been caught up with a lot of things... I'M SORRY FOR THE LONG ABSENCE...!!

Don't let loneliness and desperation make you ignore the red flags. Ignoring them won't make them disappear. It will just hurt worse when it all falls apart - Tony A. Gaskins Jr.

In today's world a lot of us live in silence, burying our hearts and thoughts in a world we call "our own", a state of mind that keeps the heart pondering and worrying about the slightest of things that barely shouldn't matter. A state that leads to confusion which ends up in desperation.

Desperation is the perfume of the young actor. It is so satisfying to have gotten rid of it. If you keep smelling it, it can drive you crazy - Uma Thorman.

I ponder on one aspect today, the desperate desire for the affection given by the other, the feeling of acceptance and love from others. These are cravings of a lonely heart. These feelings live you vulnerable and let your hearts and minds open to accept far less than you deserve.

Everybody is vulnerable to being in relationships where they get fooled. I'm no different, it is just a human nature - Michelle Pfeiffer.

So many people desire to be in real relationships, but cannot even be in a relationship with themselves. You cannot give what you don't have and you cannot receive what you are not ready for. A lot of people are single today and in a dire need to find love, to get in a "serious" relationship and then get married.

Love, Relationship and Marriage...these three words are the ponders of a lonely heart, that make you chase, and keeps your heart in a haste, the words that make you linger and forget about YOU, the words that turn you into a vulnerable soul, forgetting about living in moments and doing whatever it is that makes you happy, the words that make you wish and get you obsessed with married couples or people in real relationships stories...SIGH!!

Don't get things twisted, it's beautiful to be in these "three" words. But let's be in them for the right reasons, let's accept God to bring to us our OWN and let's stop being vulnerable to the evils in which desperation can cause.

Desperation sells you to weak people that use weaker people. Exercise patience and faith along with God's timing

This post is to inspire the SINGLES out there, let's see this as a reminder and kick out of selling ourselves as desperate. Let's fight our loneliness by getting involved in activities and keeping our minds and thoughts busy with things and plans to better OURSELVES.

I am also a victim trying to love myself and awaiting God's time. Read my previous post on Loving Yourself.

He Put A Ring On It: Olamide & Olajide

On this day she became Mrs. Tijani.....

It was a blessing to watch my sister get married. Love truly does exist... I've watched both Lajide and Lamide sail on the "love-boat" and it was all very emotional to watch him take her out of the house. I got all teary to watch my sister become the heart of another, but with all joy she bears his name.

Olajide I must say is a down-to-earth young man...can't wish for any man better to be with Olamide. He puts smiles on her face and gives her the "love beat" glow. They both complement each other.

May the Almighty Allah bless your union and keep you happy together forever...AMIN!!!!

Latrikka is wishing you the very best marriage has to bring...HAPPY MARRIED LIFE...!!!

Loving Yourself

Happy new month all....!!!

These are random pictures I took of my self...a blogger & photographer has a moment...I call it #SELFIE

After reading an article online by Sabrina Alexis "On Loving Yourself and Becoming More Confident". I got the inspiration for this post.

Often times have I found myself asking to love and be loved in return, But one thing I failed to realise was I was doing it the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, I only failed to love myself.

Everyone wants a reason to be happy, everyone seeks happiness. Most of us go about this search in different ways that is believed to suite oneself, some believe it is finding solitude in the opposite sex, partying, drowning with workload and so on..(different styles for different people), but what we all fail to realise is that HAPPINESS comes from within. It builds from the inner most parts of us, you alone are the source of your happiness.

"It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere" - Agnes Repplier

I can't speak much for the married ones out there, but I can say this for sure to the single ladies and young lads; the desire of wanting to be loved by the opposite sex, to have him/her tell you how much of a pretty damsel or handsome guy you are(the urge to have someonelse make you feel good about yourself), just swings you up for a desperate relationship...which is a No no!! often times, such relationships crumble...(okay I am not a relationship adviser).

We should learn to appreciate ourselves first, acknowledge ourselves and stay&say positive things about ourselves. Prophesying good things to yourself actually does a lot of good. I recommend watching a documentary called The Secret, it talks about the forces of the universe and how our thoughts can influence these.

People fail to know their attributes and their worths, learn to list your attributes and constantly say it to yourself. Some people might call this "vain", but if it takes being vain to be happy, please do. Do not wait for someone else to tell you your attributes, learn to appreciate them before being told. God made us all in beautiful ways.

"Before you can be happy with someone else, you truly need to find happiness within yourself "

It's all about "SHOES"

A Lady is all about her shoes. There's nothing that gets her more excited than walking 6" high. Walking high up the ground, heads high, shoulders up. No matter how tall or how short, our shoes define our every step. Hips swaying and arms swinging. No man can walk 6" high, if men think they can, then they should try wearing HEELS.

I don't know why this happens to black suede shoes, but oh well... Black shoes are a must have in any wardrobe. If you don't have a pair of black shoes, go get yourself one!!
It's not necessarily all about the heels, we do trainers as well. Getting ready for the gym, you don't expect us in heels. We still know how to work these. Giving us that comfort while running on the treadmill or out running or jogging, your ladies still know how to work it.
A coloured pair polishes an all black look...!!!

Just about that time we get in touch with our masculine side, we beautifully wear ourselves some high-tops. Comfortable platforms, extends significantly over our ankles and easy to wear. But you never confuse a lady for a man in these, because we still get to sway our hips in them... *grin*.

In every feminine wardrobe, you definitely find pairs of ballet flats. It's not about being high up the ground, but about having your stand. In these, we can still "talk that talk" and "have that walk".

I thought to entertain my viewers with a little something...!!
